Pesariis

ENGLISH:
Pesariis is a small village in the province of Udine, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is located in Val Pesarina, a valley that connects the area of the Carnia with the Cadore. It is known as the village of the clocks because, since the early 17th century, more precisely since 1725, there have been testimonials about a large production of clocks intended for civic and bell towers. Today Persariis is full of different types of clocks: the carillon, the perpetual calendar, the checkerboard clock, the water clocks, the sundial and many others. Also the Clocks Museum of the Val Pesarina is very important: here it is exposed a huge clocks collection dating back to the first years of the seventeenth century until the 2000s.

We suggest you to visit the village walking through its streets and stopping to look at the different types of clocks. Moreover, you can have lunch in one of the little restaurants that are located inside the village of Pesariis in order to taste tipical Carnia dishes such as the cjarsons, the frico with potatoes and many kinds of cured meat.

Pesariis è un piccolo borgo in provincia di Udine, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Si trova nella Val Pesarina, una valle che collega la zona della Carnia con il Cadore. È conosciuto come il paese degli orologi poichè, dagli inizi del XVII secolo, più precisamente dal 1725, ci sono testimonianze riguardanti una grande produzione di orologi destinati a torri civiche e campanarie. Oggi Pesariis è piena di diversi tipi di orologi: il carillon, il calendario perpetuo, l’orologio a scacchiera, gli orologi ad acqua, la meridiana e tanti altri. Molto importante è anche il Museo dell’Orologeria Pesarina, nella quale è esposta una collezione di orologi risalenti ai primi anni del Seicento fino al Duemila.

Vi consigliamo di visitare il borgo passeggiando per le sue vie e soffermandoti ad osservare i vari tipi di orologi. Inoltre, potete pranzare in uno dei locali situati all’interno del borgo ed assaggiare i piatti tipici della Carnia come i cjarsons, il frico con le patate e vari tipi di salumi.
